I love Christmas time so much! Baking cookies, reading books, singing Christmas carols, and watching Christmas movies with the kids. What I enjoy the most is reading cute little Christmas stories to my little ones. It’s a family tradition at our house. If you haven’t started the tradition of reading Christmas books, this is a great time to start! Here’s a list of Christmas books for toddlers and preschoolers.

10 Christmas Books for Toddlers and Preschooler

How to Catch an Elf

How to Catch an Elf is a really cute rhyming book for Preschoolers and Toddlers. (Especially if you do the Elf-on-the-Shelf tradition!)

The Christmas Wish

The Christmas Wish has a ton of gorgeous photography. It’s about a little girl who takes a trip to see if Santa will grant her Christmas wish.

Little Blue Truck’s Christmas

Little Blue Truck’s Christmas is a cute little Christmas counting story! Counting books are a great way to add in some learning with your storytime! My 3 year old loves counting books.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

(This is one of my all-time favorite Christmas stories! My kids all love it, too! If you have any Dr. Suess fans, this book is a must! Some of Dr. Suess’s books are a little lengthy for toddlers or even preschool-aged children, but my son has enjoyed them from a really young age. The rhyming and silliness throughout the book always kept his attention.

Merry Christmas, Mouse!

Merry Christmas, Mouse is a Christmas counting book by the author of “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.”

Olive, the Other Reindeer

Olive, the Other Reindeer is about a dog who thinks she is a reindeer. So she takes a trip to the North Pole to help out Santa at Christmas time.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

A Charlie Brown Christmas is another great classic! I couldn’t make this book list without adding it!

Snowmen at Christmas

This book is a companion book to Snowmen at Night where the book talks about what snowmen do when we go to sleep. This book has a similar theme, except it’s about what snowmen do at Christmas.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

I have always loved the story of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer! It’s a classic that every child enjoys!

Personalized Twas’ The Night Before Christmas

Last, but certainly not least, Twas’ the Night Before Christmas is a great book for kids to read! We read this every single year on Christmas Eve. This book is a customized version that adds in your child’s name!
